Dr. Tarek K.A. Hamid is a MIT trained system dynamicist with expertise in human metabolism and energy regulation. He is a professor of System Dynamics at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he was awarded the Naval Postgraduate School's Faculty Performance Award, in recognition of meritorious faculty performance in both research and teaching.


 • In 2009 he published Thinking in Circles about Obesity (published by Springer). Thinking in Circles about Obesity was “Highly Commended” in the “Popular Medicine” category of the British Medical Association’s 2010 BMA Book Awards.


 •Dr. Hamid is the recipient of the Jay W. Forrester award (for his first book)... which recognizes "the best contribution in the Field of System Dynamics Over the Prior Five Years.
